Machinima is the creation of films using real time game engines, such as Halo, Second Life & The Sims.
Pirate Baby’s Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 is the opposite of that. It is a film created by Paul Robertson made to look like a video game. As a child with a miss spent youth playing Streets of Rage 2 & Metal Slug X, I can really relate to this work. The attention to detail for this genre is amazing. I especially like the camio appearances from Christopher Walken and John Goodman. Keep an eye on Pauls blog to see the process and his next work.
How to Watch
Selectparks have kindly hosted the video, so watch here. There are various mirrors (1, 2). I recommend watching the hi-res video, rather than Google Video or YouTube, as pixel graphics don’t look good in low res.

Selectparks invited Paul to design their first t-shirt. I proudly wear my Pirate Baby t-shirt whenever I can. If you like the animation and want to support him, buy the t-shirt.

yeah!! … this is very very good indeed! … memories of Streets of Rage, Amiga 500s and Megadrives are suddenly flooding back to me!
