Creative Code: Aesthetics and Computation

Creative Code from John Maeda is now available. I’ve been waiting for this one since I saw it announced at the start of the year.

It’s a really good book. It has lots of guest essays from people I greatly respect, too many to list. It’s also very clear from the book how much of an inspiration Maeda is to his students and how they can be motivated by him. Some of the tasks he sets his students are very simple, with strict limitations that make you think about interactivity, motion, typography and form. As the book has only just been published, it contains masses of relevant and up to date projects and installations in there. I highly recommend this one.
